    • Set high on the escarpment in the hinterland of Byron Bay, the site has one of the best rural views in the hinterland. The house has been designed by Rosalie Stollery Architects as a series of pavilions arranged around a central courtyard, allowing the north east breezes to penetrate all areas of the house while occupants enjoy the total relaxation of the rural vista. The construction is a system Rosalie has developed over the years of a simple timber post and beam system with lightweight infill panels or glazing resulting in a simple, timeless aesthetic  reminiscent of traditional Japanese domestic architecture. This house was constructed on a very tight budget and appears larger than it really is as the built form encompasses the central courtyard.
