    • Pittwater

    • Situated on the waterfront at Pittwater in Sydney‘s northern beaches, this is an example of Rosalie Stollery Architect’s timeless contemporary aesthetic.

Inspiration for the design came from the site itself where water laps over sandstone shelves and against the sandstone sea wall. These elements have been borrowed and extended into the house itself where water and sandstone are the two main elements, ponds encircle the house, a huge wet edge pool appears to flow into Pittwater and sandstone is used in a podium upon which the house sits and repeated in a refined way in the large machined sandstone slabs in the building cladding. As the building extends up the hill it opens into a 2 storey glassy Living/Dining /Entry space connected to the street level by an overhead bridge.
